Counter-Strike 2: PUGs and HTG servers
HTG's own CS2 servers are on the roadmap: always-on community servers, plus PUG servers started on demand. Until they're live, PUGs are organised in Discord on any server a member provides.
Joining a server
Premier and matchmaking lobbies can't join a community server, so you connect directly. Two ways:
Click the connect link posted in Discord, of the form
steam://connect/<address>:<port>/<password>. Steam opens CS2 and joins.Use the console: enable the developer console in settings, press
~, and typeconnect <address>:<port>; password <password>
A passworded server joined from the in-game browser fails with "Bad password" and no prompt, so use one of the two ways above.
PUGs
- Join a PUG in
#cs-pugs. Grab@CS PUGto be pinged when one forms. - When 10 players are in, teams and the map veto are sorted in Discord, and each player gets the connect details.
- Meet in PUG Lobby, then split to team channels.
Fair play
- No skin changers or inventory plugins (
!ws, knives, gloves), on any server HTG runs or uses. Valve permanently disables the server tokens of servers that offer them, and bars the account from making new ones. See publisher rules. - No cheats. Cheating anywhere is a permanent ban here (rule 5).
