Moderation and appeals
How HTG staff respond when the rules are broken, and how to appeal.
The ladder
Most rule breaks move one step up the ladder each time:
| Step | Action |
|---|---|
| 1 | Warning — a staff member tells you what rule you broke |
| 2 | 1-hour timeout |
| 3 | 24-hour timeout |
| 4 | Kick — removed from the server; you can rejoin |
| 5 | Ban — permanent removal |
Staff may start further up the ladder for serious behaviour, and every action is recorded privately in the moderation log.
Immediate bans
These skip the ladder and go straight to a ban:
- cheating, exploits or XP farming (rule 5);
- hate speech, threats of violence, or targeted harassment;
- doxxing or sharing someone's private information or recordings (rule 7);
- any sexual content involving minors, which is also reported to Discord;
- raiding, mass spam, or scams.
Under 18
Members found to be under 18 are removed (rule 1). This isn't a punishment and isn't recorded as a ban; you're welcome back once you're 18.
Appeals
- Warnings and timeouts: open a ticket in
#supportexplaining why the decision was wrong. A staff member who didn't take the action reviews it. - Kicks and bans: you can appeal 30 days after the action. Because a banned account can't
reach
#support, ban appeals go to appeals@hiddentoken.com. Include your Discord username, roughly when it happened, and why the decision should change. - One appeal per action. Cheating bans (rule 5) are only reversed if the ban was a mistake, for example someone else's account or a misread report.
- Staff aim to answer an appeal within 14 days. The decision on an appeal is final.
